The University of New Mexico Career Services office, on behalf of the UNM Hispanic Engineering
and Science Organization (HESO), invites you to attend the 29th Annual HESO Career Fair, Tuesday,
September 15, 2009! This career fair is open to all students from all majors. Employers from all sectors
are encouraged to attend. HESO is dedicated to attracting under-represented students to engineering
and science through personal development and implementation of various recruitment and retention
activities. The career fair is being coordinated in partnership with the UNM Office of Career Services. Career
Services will be managing the registration, which will be done exclusively online.
We had 848 job seekers attend The Hispanic Engineering and Science Organization Career Fair 2008 and
we anticipate similar participation for 2009.
Dual Format
To help you get the most out of your recruiting efforts, the technical/science/engineering career fair is
scheduled in conjunction with the Anderson School of Management Career Fair, which is scheduled for the following day.
The dual format will allow you to visit UNM two days in a row, reach science and engineering students on Septmeber 15,
and business students on September 16. The business school fair will also be open
to job seeker traffic from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on September 16, 2009. Separate registration is required to attend both events.
Organizations that register for both career fairs will be given the same table for both events.
Registration Fee
- On or before July 2, 2009: $350.00
- Between July 3 - July 30, 2009: $450.00
- On or after July 31, 2009: $550.00
Registrations after September 2, 2009 are subject to approval of Cassandra Costley,
Event Coordinator, UNM Career Services, at (505) 277-2605.
Registration cancellations within 10 days of the event date are subject to a $100.00 administrative fee.
Event Agenda
- 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM: Employer sign-in and booth set up
- 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM: Thank You/Recognition Breakfast
- 9:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Open to student traffic
NOTE: Recruiters will be asked to close their booth promptly at 3:00 PM to
allow time for reconfiguration for the business school event scheduled for the following day.
Marketing/Sponsorship Packages
In addition to basic registration, several sponsorship packages have been developed to further
enhance your presence at the career fair and assist the HESO organization to better accomplish
their mission, noting that all contributing scholarships will be given in their respective sponsors
name at the end of the academic year. The deadline to request sponsorship packages is
September 2, 2009.

Meals
The registration fee includes complimentary Lobo Cash Meal Cards for lunch for a maximum of 2 recruiters. Each card has a $10.00 value,
valid at the restaurants inside the Student Union Building (SUB). View SUB dining information

Additional meal tickets may be purchased for $30 per recruiter.
Booth Size
Approximately 6 feet wide, including table width and seating space for two
recruiters.
Electricity
Electrical outlets can be provided at an additional fee of $50.00 at the time of registration. If electrical
outlets are requested on the day of the event, there will be a charge of $75.00.

Payment by P.O., check, Visa/MC is accepted. Credit card payment is by telephone only.

Driving Directions
Airport car rental shuttles provide transportation between the terminal building and the Car Rental Center
located at 3400 University Blvd SE. Shuttles run every 5 minutes from the commercial lane located outside
the 1st level of the airport terminal building. Once you have picked up your vehicle at the rental area,
drive north on University Blvd. The street curves east to become Randolph. At the traffic signal at
Randolph and Yale Blvd, turn left, heading north on Yale. Campus is a 5-7 minute drive from that intersection.
Enter campus at Yale and Central, and head east to the Visitor Parking Structure which is adjacent to
Central/Stanford entrance to campus.
Parking
Parking is very closely monitored on our campus. We cannot be responsible for tickets or towing if you
choose to park outside the visitor lot. Bring your parking stub to the employer sign-in table so we can validate.
Parking will be validated for one vehicle per registration, no in-out privileges. Additional parking validation
may be purchased by contacting 505-277-2531.
Directions to the Student Union Building (SUB) from Visitor Parking
From the Visitor Lot, walk north, Popejoy Hall will be on your left. The SUB will also be on your left,
Building #60 on the campus map available on the UNM website. The
ballroom is located in the northwest corner of the building. Watch for our signs with balloons to
direct you to the fair!
Unloading/Loading
Students will be available to help with unloading/loading at entrance to the parking structure from 8:00 AM
to 9:00 AM. They will be available in the ballroom beginning at 3:00 PM to help you return your material
to your vehicle.
Employer Sign-In
Once you have unloaded your displays and other materials, please check in at Employer Sign-in for directions to your assigned table.
